Luca Cesari was a child with no appetite in Bologna in the 70s, lovingly fed on tagliatelle and tortellini by a grandmother who was a cook. Perhaps for this reason he deals with the history of gastronomy, in particular with the birth of the most famous dishes of the Italian tradition.
He published “History of pasta in ten dishes” for Il Saggiatore which won the Bancarella della cucina 2021 award and was named book of the year by the magazine “Gambero Rosso”. The book is currently being translated into 7 languages.
In the journalistic field, he edits the column “Guess who faints at dinner” in the cultural insert of the Sole 24 Ore, collaborates with the magazine “Gambero Rosso” and the website “Dissapore” . As a popularizer he participates in radio broadcasts including “Sere d’Estate”, “Quelli che Radio 2” and “Catpillar Estate” on RAI Radio 2.
