Helen Cullen

Helen is an Irish writer. She worked at RTE (Ireland’s national broadcaster) for seven years before moving to London in 2010 where she established a career as an events specialist. Following freelance work for companies such as the BBC and The Times, she joined the Google UK marketing team in 2015 before leaving to write full-time in 2017. Helen wrote the first draft of The Lost Letters of William Woolf while completing the Guardian/UEA novel writing program under the mentorship of Michèle Roberts. She also holds a B.A. Communications, M.A. Theatre Studies from UCD and an M.A. English Literature from Brunel University. The Lost Letters of William Woolf was published in 2019 by Graydon House in America, Penguin Random House in the UK and in translation in other foreign territories. It garnered Helen a Best Newcomer nomination at the Irish Book Awards. In 2020, Helen’s second novel, The Dazzling Truth, was published by Graydon House and as The Truth Must Dazzle Gradually by Penguin Random House in the UK. Helen is currently working on her third novel whilst currently undertaking a PhD in Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia.
